New additions make household flip!!

Hi everyone, We had a new addition late January this year and needless to say it has turned our household upside down, inside out. It has definitely added more joy, less sleep, more laughs, more crying (on the baby part also:)Some jealousy from the toddler sibling (to be expected) But most of all a great shift in our homeschooling. We are all learning to adjust, especially Mommy. I am learning that, although I cannot accomplish everything I want to or the way I want, that is OK, and I will survive, and my older kids will survive this year. This is very hard for me, you see I like to be in control. I am learning patience, time management (don't seem to be doing a good job at that lately), self discipline and prioritizing. All these things are extremely essential in homeschooling with a baby & a toddler. I haven't fully learned the extent of these lessons or know when I'll be finished with my training in life, it would most likely be when I go to be with my Savior. And that's OK, this is the season I am in and I need to work with it. Some things that I've learned in the last three months of management that I gleaned from my good friend Lois' blog: She has some true gems to glean from in raising toddlers, she has twins. One thing I started using was quiet sit time, this truly has worked especially during Bible time. Josiah is learning to get his Bible, sit down and start reading (pretend), and tries real hard to be quiet. So we're getting there, now if he could not yell while the baby is taking a nap, we'll be OK ;) Stay tuned my next post will be on Teaching for Mastering & Why? Blessings Joyfulwith4

OUR WORKBOX SYSTEM

Here are some pictures of our redone classroom. Everyone enjoys being in the classroom and just hang out, color, or play. After one week of school my daughter came to me and said; "Oh mom, I am glad we're organized this year, everything is so much easier."
So everyone is happy with organization and cleanness, it's amazing a little hard-work, elbow grease, and some furniture to help organize can do to mental alertness and focus.
We're happy with our workboxes, desks, and shelf. This system has truly been a blessing, I am so happy I found it, surfing on the net on someone else's blog. I hope you enjoy the pictures and checkout the other links.

Josiah is in the fun! We let him make a mess most of time, then we clean it up later. It just works for us. Halfway through the morning I'll sit him on my lap and we'll go on the internet to "Starfall" or "Sesame Street" and watch Elmo, which he enjoys immensely.

We're almost done!

During the month of July/August I have been working sporadically on our home office/classroom and we are about done. I purchased 3 new desks, 1 bookshelf and 2 10 drawer rolling carts to begin implementing the "workbox" system. The kids are excited, it actually looks neat in here!! Now when I walk in I am not stressed, before everyone hated coming in here, even the baby would walk in and say Mess Mess! It was terrible!!! Sorry I don't have before and after pictures because well it was embarrassing!! So I promise I'll post the complete picture of the redone classroom for you all to see! For now these were the products we purchased

Pictures from Enoch

My Dear friend Wanda.

My extra special find!

Super Duper Homeschooling Family!

Enoch, Evals & More

Hi it's been a while. Was very busy in June performing evaluations. I enjoy evaluating homeschool families, there is so much I learn from them, every student & family is unique. I felt my summer did not start until I finished all my evaluations and that was on July 2nd :)
I'm finally catching my breath and wanted to write about ENOCH and all the blessings we encountered while we were there. We met so many different people from different walks of life who are just trying to raise they're children in God's commands. I was able to meet up with a dear sister in Christ who I had met last year, her name is Wanda Ramos from Elizabeth, she had purchased some Doorposts curriculum for using in her church's Sunday School. I asked how it was going and did the material help their church's ministry. She said that the material was being implemented and praise God they were seeing a difference in the children's character. She had also shared with me that they had attended, in June, an ASCI homeschooling conference http://ati.iblp.org/ati/, and she met the Duggar family!!! That is my dream come true, to meet such a inspiring & humble family. Here are a few pictures she shared with me. Just the pictures alone blessed me.

THANKS WANDA FOR BEING SUCH A BLESSING AND SHARING THIS WITH ME!!!

If you've never heard of ATI check out they're website, they have great character, family, marriage & many other spiritual curriculum courses that will bless your whole family.
